- Examiner expects:
Understand main idea + specific details.
Catch tone, intent, and implied meaning.
- Strategy:
- Listen actively for the overall idea.
Use context (who is speaking, where, why).
Stay calm
Writing (Expression écrite)
- Tests written communication in French.
- Format: 2 sections, 60 min (25+35)
- Task 1: short message (80–120 words)- 25 minutes.
- Task 2: longer text (200–250 words) - 35 minutes.
- Examiner expects: clear structure, relevant ideas, correct grammar, proper tone
- Strategy:
- Plan before writing (3–4 bullet ideas).
- Use simple, correct French instead of complex but wrong sentences.
- Manage time: ~25 min for Sec A, ~35 min for Sec B.
Speaking (Expression orale)
- Tests oral communication in French.
- Format: 2 sections, 15 min (5 + 10)
Sec A: Asking questions – 5 minutes- Formal
Sec B: Convince a friend – 10 minutes - Informal
- Examiner expects: fluency, clear ideas, correct grammar,
- good pronunciation, confidence
- Themes: Activity, Travel, Class, Job offer, Rent, Sell, Volunteering, etc.
- Strategy: add 2–3 details, stay natural and confident,
- use simple but correct French with connectors, idioms and rich vocab.
